The flight was overbooked and they wanted volunteers to go on tomorrow's flight instead, in exchange for a $500 voucher, a hotel stay, and flying business class tomorrow.

So, um, I'm in a hotel now. In Quebec. No idea why the airport is in Ottawa and the hotel is in Gatineau, but it is. I have meal vouchers and stuff.

I'm not going to spend ages online because while I have my laptop, I only have half battery left and the charger is in my checked luggage, which is on its way to London (and I can pick it up at Heathrow when I get there).

I'll update again when I arrive in London For Reals.

Unfortunately yes, but with most of my family in Canada and my aunt a travel agent, I'm sure I can transfer it to something a little more liquid. There is a 1-year time limit but it can be extended if I haven't used it by December.

On my flight back from London to Atlanta I had padded my schedule with an extra day and was preparing to give my bump speech when the BA woman said 'You've been upgraded to 'Club World'' I took the flight. It was the most comfortable long flight I have ever taken.

For others BA has been dodgy but for me they were spot on
