Have thermos, proper (non-crap, non-leaky) water bottle, insulated mug with lid, and knife fork and spoon set. The mug is the only one that is really a splurge, and it is pretty and blue and when it is empty I can put a few packets of oatcakes in it, so if I'm planning a 'cheese and crackers with soup' lunch the crackers and maybe even some cheese can go in the mug until it is time to make soup in it, thereby saving a bit of space.

Oh, and a bunch of instant soups.

Failed to get: thick felt insoles for my boots, more sensible filofax pages. The filofax pages could in theory wait until the new year but the ones that I have do not really give me enough space on each day, particularly considering my working life is made up of many appointments, the longest of which is 2 hours. The thick felt insoles for boots should really not be that hard. All the camping shop had was special funky insoles for special funky hiking boots. I just want the thick wool ones that you cut down to size and then stick in the bottom of your boots. Is that so hard? Do they have those here? I don't want stupid odor-eating things either, they smell funny. I just want a little more warmth between the ground and my feet, to prevent the latter getting cold.

Wanted: instant (just add hot water) oatmeal in small satchet servings with little or no added sugar. I'm sure these exist, I used to eat them at Andrea's house, but I don't recall having seen them here for some reason. Perhaps a trip to a Larger Sainsbury's is required. Blame [livejournal.com profile] idoru for reminding me they exist!

Off to wash all my new dishes and pack my things for tomorrow!

My hair also really needs washing. I suspect it will wait. Still no hot water and I don't fancy going to bed with wet hair. Perhaps in the morning the cold shower thing will seem a little more appealing. Really wish we had one of those electric shower things, then I could still have hot bath (although it would be expensive hot bath).

No problem. :-)

Oh - sachets of instant oatmeal.... I've become quite a fan of Quaker's "Oatso" in "original" (i.e. plain) flavour; you're supposed to add milk and then microwave it for 3 mins, but I bet if you added boiling water and let it stand for 3 mins it'd work just as well - and it comes in boxes of 10 sachets. Hope that helps!

It should work especially well if I put in some powdered skimmed milk (oatmeal without milk is Sick and Wrong, I'm sorry).

I will have a look for it, thanks again.
