This morning I just had a sore throat.

Now I still have a sore throat but also seem to be feeling about 2% not dead (to borrow a phrase from a few of you). I suspect I may have a fever as my perceived temperature is doing the whole "Too hot! No, too cold! Now too hot again! Cold! Hot! Cold! HotColdHotColdHotCold!" thing with no apparent respect for the temperature of the air around me.

Busking this morning was good. By the time I got to Yakar I felt decidedly blah. I also didn't manage to book very good pitches for the week of the 28th because I didn't phone until just before noon.

I am informed that if someone does not turn up for their pitch within 20 minutes of it starting, it is free to anyone who turns up. I think I may, once my endurance is good enough (it's getting very good already, not surprisingly) attempt to find a 10.30-11.30 slot occasionally, perhaps on Fridays when things are a little busier, or show up for my 12pm pitch at 10.30 to see if anyone has turned up, and play that pitch as well as my own if they haven't. The only station I can't do this is - you guessed it - Westminster. Too bad; Westminster 2 is a very good pitch (it's in Exit 6 if anyone is wondering). Bank 1, however, might be an excellent pitch to do this with, and apparently loads of people don't turn up for it.

Have attempted to cancel my first student in a desperate attempt to rest a bit and have lemsip or something else containing paracetamol. Next two students will have to stay as they are buggers to reshedule. Haven't heard from her, though, so I'm not sure what is going on, grah. It doesn't appear to have been received yet.

Just heard; we've rescheduled for Thursday. And the other one was cancelled this week because of Succoth (just checked filofax thingum to confirm this), and the OTHER one I've managed to reschedule to tomorrow.

This means I can now spend the evening getting some much-needed rest.

I feel like a wimp for rescheduling, but I know it is better than just trying to struggle through and making myself more tired and ill in the process.

Ther'es one in the middle of the jubilee escalators at lonon bridge which gets a lot of traffic but is almost always empty around 5:45-6:30ish. Just in case you're interested.

That would be the one where it is sortof on a corner which juts out, yes?

Not great for horn playing as the wall jutting out deflects most of the sound in funny directions (ie away from the public). Also the escalators are quite noisy and I find it tiring to play there.

This is probably why it is usually empty!

Late afternoon/early evening I am almost always teaching so I don't do the evening rush hour thing at all.

Thanks very much for the tip, though. :)
