Posting from Chicken Central. It took me all bloody day to pack, it always does, I should have done it last night when I was too tired to care. It was nearly six by the time I got here; not a good start for the dog to be out on her own in the dark like that on the first day! poor thing. But all eight chickens were roosting happily in the shed, so at least Monsieur Rénard hasn't been to visit. The cats aren't hiding and sulking like they usually do, either, so they must be getting accustomed to my visits. The dog is fed and I don't have to feed teh cats, chickens and rabbits until tomorrow morning.
There was, however, a frantic note from the Chicken Lady, in her best doctor's scrawl, which means she wrote in all caps in an attempt to make it readable (this almost works). "HELP! Boiler problems (this morning)," it read, and detailed that she thought she might have fixed it but if not to phone Ollie and he will come and fix it and she'll pay him when she gets back from Cyprus in a month.
So, the long and short of it is that the boiler is fubar, and Ollie is going to come and fix it tomorrow morning... so much for my nice, leisurely lie-in. ( more waffle )
All will be well.
