I must remember that a 'Severe Weather Warning' over here does not mean the same thing in terms of amount of snow that it would in Canada, it just means it might actually snow.

Snow would be nice, though. I could make my snow angel. I could go clomping around in it and listen to the crunch. I could do lots of other snow-related things.

Snow

Last winter I went up to Newcastle (http://www.livejournal.com/users/livredor/36594.html), and was fortunate to do so the weekend they had six inches of snow. This was more snow than I've seen in years and years and years. I got to use the sledge I got for Chanukah in the late eighties for only the third time, and went sledging down Cow Hill, and built a snow Buddha, and showed [livejournal.com profile] livredor what a snow angel was (which I learned from reading Was... (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0140178724/ref=br_lf_b_10/026-8254753-0592408) -- written by another Canadian living in the UK: Geoff Ryman; I'm not sure the concept even exists in this country), and generally had lots of fun in the snow with [livejournal.com profile] livredor.

Then I got back to London and discovered they had had one millimetre of snow there. I felt sorry for my brother missing it all, so got him some artificial snow (http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/INSSNOVAR.htm) for Chanukah this year.

(Oh, and if you were wondering, this post is all [livejournal.com profile] justinep's indirect fault (http://www.livejournal.com/users/justinep/53664.html). :o))
