ewtI need a guarantor to sign a passport photo and some documentation in order for me to renew my Canadian passport.
Eligible guarantors
Your guarantor must:
1. Have known you personally for at least two years.
2. Live within the jurisdiction of the passport issuing office and be accessible for verification.
3. Be one of the following:
* Dentist
* Judge
* Practising lawyer
* Magistrate
* Mayor
* Medical doctor
* Notary public
* Police officer
* Signing officer of a bank
Does that fit any of you here?
Why don't they put "computer geek" on the list??
If I can't get a guarantor I have to fill out a different form, and swear in front of a legal bod that I am who I say I am. They usually charge about £20 for this, so I'd like to avoid it (also it is a huge PITA).

Date: 2006-06-01 09:37 pm (UTC)It might be the least amount of hassle to go to your bank manager - s/he'll charge a fee for doing it, but is probably easyish to get access to.
