SO TIRED.

This week:
Today - brainhacker. Then Pembury Tavern.
Tomorrow 12pm - concert in the Peacock Room at Trinty.
Tomorrow afternoon - horn lesson.
Tomorrow evening - free - should I have a birthday get-together?
Thursday - daytime - packing for Leicester, tidying up
Thursday - evening - going to try to get to Aikido, if not then I'm getting a very early night, because it won't do to go to Leicester and get tired before [livejournal.com profile] hairyears' father does.
Friday - MY BIRTHDAY. I'm off to Leicester. Back Saturday night
Sunday - teaching all day.

Later:
Saturday, 4th November - teaching in the morning. Oakdale Arms later.
Friday, 10th November - off to Brighton to work on a sekr1t project (no Boo-meevie for me)
Saturday 11th November - coming back to Lodnon at some point.

If tomorrow is far too short-notice, should I have a birthday get-together sometime next week? I'm not available at all at the weekend, I'm afraid.

I will be going to the Dark Masquerade. Already thinking about costume details. I'm having a mask made by [livejournal.com profile] flannelcat. I need to find some very red lipstick that suits me - so no hint of orange about it. For various reasons I need to do this before the mask is made.

I'm also available to make wings for those of you going as various types of, er, winged demons. My prices are somewhat flexible depending what you want, but expect around £60 for a pair of wings. But you need to tell me about this before the end of November, or I won't have time to make them. Yes, I did make the ones in the icon.

Ahh, classical music, no, not really. Ballroom Dancing? Hmmm... we'll see. We certainly have a few surprises in store, but no, it won't be expected.

As to costume, though it sounds absolutely perfect. The first masquerade, which I went along to as a guest, I was wearing a bright red leather jacket, woad spirals and a huuuge long nosed mask with curled horns, very much the little puckling, and really not ubergoth. The ubergoth "I take my coffee black as my soooooul..." attitude amuses me. :P

I'm confused, though. Why wouldn't we approve of that for Loki? :D

There's obviously the large misinterpretation on my end. Seeing the site, and having been to such places as the Devonshire Arms here in London, I'm easily making assumptions of being considered 'Not Goth enough'. Especially since I'm not any sort of Goth at all. What I would be expecting was a strong emphasis on the more classical imagery, in which my very modern Loki-worshipper ways would stand out like a sore thumb. And thus be unwelcome.

In other words, stop projecting Yaqub, and ask questions instead. Ahem. Let's just stay it's been a bad few days lately which make me more uncertain, and thus expecting the worst from everybody.

With that being said: hmmmm. I'll pencil that date into my calendar, and since I'm a fairly regular Oxford goer anyways, I might even know a few others who could be interested in this event. :o)

I've been in the Dev once or twice, and it annoyed me. I tend to steer clear, these days.

And no, I'm not Goth, or even 'goth', for that matter - somewhere between blues and folk and trance and ebm and ...ahh...hard-house and drum n bass in musical taste, and stylewise, I'm more... with a lot of..erm...

Not sure. Ewt? How would you describe me?

The event itself, however, will mainly play some classic goth tunes, and maybe some remixed classical, and maybe some varied other stuff. [livejournal.com profile] andyravensable will be DJing, and will be able to describe it better.

But no, it's not cliquey, it's not the London Vampwhyre Group, and it's *definately* not the Dev, or anything like it. There'll be some fairly mixed interpretations of costume in there, as much as you would expect from a bunch of Larpers and musicians and a Commedia de'l Arte nut, who somwhow manage to run a Masquerade in the glittering Ballroom of the Randolph Hotel. :P

And, what's more, it'll be fun. Or will, if *I* have anything to do with it, and I'm organising the entertainment. :D

Tickets will go very quickly, though, so bear that in mind. If you're a regular Oxford goer, you might even know some folk already.
