Office-alikes for MacOS

Looking for a free software wossname package that will do spreadsheets, read Word documents, and so on.

Yes, I could use Google documents for a lot of it, but I want to save some things locally and be able to work on them whilst on trains, and the internet isn't quite that ubiquitous just yet.

Suggestions? Warnings?

NeoOffice (http://www.neooffice.org/) works for me for simple stuff. It's OpenOffice ported away from ugly X11 to a nice native Mac interface.
