Note to self: doing a spot of grocery shopping right after the osteopath is STUPID.

That said, I feel much better than I did before I saw the osteopath. Just need to be exceedingly careful for the rest of the day. Still going to try a bit of horn, it's been way too long, and I'll be back in a week and a half for more treatment.

I can start adding more exercises, including strength-building ones, to my physio routine. Yay that. Supposed to go for more reps at lower weight rather than the standard "3 sets of 10-12 reps"; instead I should be aiming for stuff I can do 25-30 times, but just the one set. This should give me a more gradual increase in strength - which is good, because sudden changes in my muscles = joints getting pulled about horribly. I'm thinking I'm looking at a good 20-30 minutes of exercise every day, plus walking or swimming, though I'll have to do it consistently to really know - and when I'm playing a lot again I may have to do a certain amount of physio for every hour of horn playing, which will make practising even more time-intensive, because spending several hours on physical (music) training wasn't enough of a drain on my time... yeah. I'm thinking the horn support might be a really good investment, even if I only use it for some of the practising, if it reduces the amount of time I have to spend doing remedial training.

I keep waiting for the "not being exhausted all the time" part of getting better. Even comparatively mild chronic pain is very tiring - either that, or I'm tired for some other reason. Hopefully the exercise will help with that, too. The trick is not to overdo it, as with all things - if I exercise too much I will get so tired/sore that the benefits are lost. Gently, gently catchy monkey.

Today it is sunny and I walked through the park a bit and the fennel is starting - still too young to really pick for eating but it's nice to see it starting, in a few more weeks there will be lots of it. Plums and crabapples seem to be blossoming as well, and some of the hawthorn. Also lots of yarrow, dock, random wild cabbage-y things and goosegrass.

My father pointed me at this site for solar panels.
