Girls fined for drawing on pavement with chalk.

I will be drawing on the pavement outside my house as a show of solidarity. I already have pavement chalk...

What should I write? Answers on a postcard.

How about this strange combination of letters and numbers? (http://rudd-o.com/archives/2007/04/30/spread-this-number/)

See, there are 2 things that make me wonder about what hasn't been said in that story:

- What sort of 15 year olds draw on the pavement with chalk?
- What exactly did they regard as "Girly stuff", considering that the one in the picture appears to have used a piece of black pavement chalk as eyeliner...? (Rich coming from someone who could be described as a goth, I know!)

...I must be getting old or something...!

According to the article, they were seen drawing hearts and rainbows. I suppose that counts as girly...

OK, OK, so I'm prejudiced against the "yoof of today" (As they seem to write - See?! They can't even spell!!)

I still am somewhat sceptical and think there may be a detail or two missing, though.

I must say she doesn't strike me as an example of girlish innocence ;)

No idea. I know the stuff I just drew on my pavement with washes off, though. It did last year, anyway, and it's the same bucket of chalk...

Dunno but when I was little they sold huge sticks of chalk for drawing on the sidewalk. like this:
http://www.crayola.com/canwehelp/products/chalk_sidewalk.cfm
Although back then they didn't shape them like crayons, they were just huge fat sticks.

Always good for drawing a hopscotch grid. I pitied my friends who lived on streets that didn't have sidewalks (sometimes you could draw on the street but the surface wasn't as good. A big driveway works though as long as your parents haven't gone posh and done it with pavers instead ;) )

hey, cool, Crayola now do sidewalk PAINT!

Maybe it's the stuff they use to mark out sports pitches on playing fields?

I'm more than a little tempted to go down to the polling office on Thursday and write slogans on the pavement outside. I'm not quite sure what I'd write, though.

BTW, congrats on getting the first LJ comment posted from my new (well, second-hand) wi-fi PDA.

Amazing how all things happen in synchronicity. A friend posted these photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dryadic/sets/72157600150593088/) today, after I read this post last night.

Looks like lunacy hasn't taken over the world just yet.

Pfaw! They will not stop me from drawing Turtles all over Feltham in February!

Although the police van pulling up at the station as I was drawing turtles on the steps was a bit of a shocker. I guess they were looking for the urinator, though. :oP

This is too pathetic for words. I wish my local police could afford the time to waste on this nonsense. I have personally experienced them not having time to deal properly with a gunfight between two gangs on a main street in broad daylight, amongst other things.
