I'm trying to download scanner drivers from hp.com, and it seems they a) don't compress files, because everyone has broadband now, right? and b) don't want to let me download the thing faster than 10KB/second. The file is 101.4MB. This could take Quite Some Time.

Oh, yes. Everyone has broadband except HP of course. Though someone else seems to be able to grab it at 240K/second, so perhaps it is our internet misbehaving again.

After it is done, though, I will be able to do some scanning that I have owed my horn teacher for a Very Long Time, as well as scanning in some lieder so that I have them on the computer instead of having to cart a book around with me if I want to work on transcriptions.

Other stuff to do today:
-laundry
-make plants obvious so builders do not step on them
-phone Mum
-phone students
-cycle part of the way to Aikido?

I'm not aware of any good cycling route to Bethnal Green... Up the canal and turn left at Roman Road, I guess, but that's not a road I'd choose to cycle along.

My route would be to Victoria Park and then take approach road or something and carry on until I got there, but that's more coming from Hackney. Looking at the map, coming from the direction of Isle of Cats I'd aim to go in the direction of Whitechapel as there seem plenty of back roads to go along.

Don't get me started on printer and scanner drivers taking tens and hundreds of megabytes!
